You can also break your chip, so your mileage may vary (but is better with the Rockit Delid kit! 'Rockit Delid tool' on amazon, msg them on website for it if they do not have any they will put in stock - they did for me). To get any decent OC out of this chip you have to delid, and that throws warranty out the window if you don't have the tuning plan. since it's an open world and dynamic, best thing you can do is watch in MSI afterburner and see if one of your cores is maxing out. The only thing that will help that is a fast cpu, and sadly, you really aren't going to get a faster per-core cpu except maybe 10~20% on the 7-series cpus, which have heat issues just like the cpu you and I are running.īest I can think of is that there's one part of the game engine holding you back, too many monsters will slow things down, too much draw detail will slow it down too.

It may be a multicore game (it is, I have same CPU), but various processes within the game will max out 1~2 cores regularly, holding the rest of the game back if they're lagging behind. There is just SO MUCH going on, you may be in fact up against the draw call limits, or up against what a single-core will do.

That really doesn't knock the immersion much if any. I would just turn down or off godrays, even though you have Nvidia, and turn down shadows some. Maybe try an ENB reshade, to help things, I got better gfx and better performance doing that (it's not much work if you have F4SE already installed). Maybe setting detail distance down a tad, turn down godrays, or gfx to medium or a bit less shadows (god rays and shadows are the two most intensive). This is an extended version of the Oblivion game engine, that's not it's name, that's just one of the 1st games it appeared in. Maybe someone else can help.Īlso, if you have scrap mods that mess with meshpreculling, that knocks FPS badly. I don't know what else to say to help here, my identical CPU and RX 480 does roughly the same. Sorry to say, but there is just so much going on, it's hard for the dated old game engine to handle it.
