Upon the release of Kingdom: New Lands on Aug 9 2016, the original game was renamed from Kingdom to Kingdom: Classic. This older version (which is still playable on Noio's website) was polished and expanded into Kingdom: Classic. But before making it to Steam, it was a little Flash game. It was released on 21 October 2015, developed by Noio and Licorice and published by Raw Fury. Kingdom: Classic is the older version of Kingdom on Steam.
The land became populated with people, one thing kept leading to another, and soon Kingdom was born. From this task spawned new goals, such as putting somebody on top of the horse, and giving them things to do and interact with. To win the game, the Monarch must use knights and archers to destroy all portals that spawn the Greed before they become too powerful to defeat. Soon enough, the Monarch finds out the reason why there are so many ruins around (hence the maxim "Nothing Lasts.") and prepares to also defend the kingdom from constant attacks by a dark and greedy enemy. Master the land, build your defenses, and when the darkness comes, stand with your people, crown on your head, until the very end. Protect your domain at night from the greedy creatures looking to steal your coins and crown, and explore the nearby, mysterious forests to discover curious and cryptic artifacts to aid your kingdom.
By using the coins they find, the Monarch recruits the poor people so they turn into brave civilians, and establishes a humble campsite that will slowly grow into a thriving kingdom.Īttend to your domain, border to border, or venture into the wild to discover its wonders and its threats. Initially lead by a light trail, the Monarch explores the land and its many mysteries.
The game has a clear premise: a Monarch on their horse arrives to a land covered by forests and ruins and people struggling in poverty.
In Kingdom, each coin spent can tip the balance between prosperity and decay. Play the role of a king or queen atop their horse and enter a procedurally generated realm primed to sustain a kingdom, then toss gold to peasants and turn them into your loyal subjects in order to make your kingdom flourish.
